Control Loader Math Model Software for Aircraft
Servos & Simulation has designed and written software for the feedback control loader systems that accurately model the flight controls for many aircraft. The software contains a precision math model of the flight control system for the specified aircraft. See the list below for a comprehensive list of aircraft. The models typically include the following:
Feel Spring, Breakout, Stops, Friction, Damping, Force Trim (helicopters), Beep trim (typically fixed-wing aircraft), Stick Shaker, Stick Pusher, Coupling between Axes, Autopilot, Boost actuators with hydraulic failure modes, Aerodynamic forces on the control surfaces, Trim tab, Servo tab operation, Separable aileron controls (wheels), Separable elevator controls (column), Boost failure modes usually include manual reversion so the aircraft is still flyable
Separable aileron controls and elevator controls require a separate control loader actuator for each wheel or column. The two-wheel control loaders are connected and disconnected in software. This is the same for the two-column control loaders.
An aircraft with fore and aft cockpits such as the Apache may have the flight controls in the forward cockpit can be connected mechanically or in software to the flight controls in the aft cockpit.
Variables that are returned to the host computer include but are not limited to:
- Flight control roll angle (wheel or stick)
- Flight control pitch angle (column or stick)
- Flight control pedal position
- Flight control collective stick position (helicopters only)
- Aileron angle
- Elevator angle
- Rudder angle
- Others available upon request
